Randy Couture looks to take out Machida in Toront, Canada in a few months, fight confirmed

The proposed light heavyweight clash of former champions, Randy Couture and Lyoto Machida is now officially a “done deal” for the forthcoming super event, UFC 129, which is set to go down on April 30th in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

According to a report by MMAJunkie.com,and then mmabayradio.com, mmabay, both men have verbally agreed to the fight, with the official paperwork expected to be completed and signed in the coming hours.
Couture is on a solid three-fight winning streak right now after dropping to 205 pounds to defeat Brandon Vera via unanimous decision and Mark Coleman via second round submission. He moved back up to heavyweight to take on boxing champion, James Toney and won again via submission, this time in the first round.
As for Machida, his reign as champion was cut short by fellow Brazilian, Mauricio “Shogun” Rua in May, losing the fight via first round TKO. He returned to the octagon to face fellow former champion, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson but lost via split decision on the judges scorecards.
